• 1984-1996 Professor at Hamburg University, Faculty of Law
• 1996 Retirement
• Director of the Institute for European Integration at the Europa-Kolleg Hamburg


Areas of research and reaching

Legal research in European integration; compartive integration research; European and German public law of economics; Law of the European Monetary Union.
Teaching experience in Germany, Luxemburg (Institut Universitaire International, 1980, 1986). 


Other professional activities

Experience as legal consultant for the German Government (Bundesministerium für Verkehr), for the Senate of Hamburg, for the Landesbank Hamburg, and for several private undertakings.
