New Director of Studies

Professor Dr. Markus Kotzur, LL.M. (Duke) succeeds Professor Dr. Thomas Bruha as Chair for Public Law, European Law, International Law at the University of Hamburg and Director of Studies for the Master Programme "European and European Legal Studies" at the Europa-Kolleg Hamburg. Professor Kotzur currently holds the Chair for European Law, Public International Law and Public Law at the University of Leipzig (Website) and is going to take up his position at the University of Hamburg with effect of 1 February 2012. As regards the position of Director of Studies Professor Kotzur succeeds Professor Bruha with immediate effect. In addition to this, Professor Kotzur will already be holding lectures in the Master Programme during the winter term.

Professor Bruha who was significantly involved in the setting up of the Master Programme at the Europa-Kolleg Hamburg and held the position of Director of Studies since 1993, retired with effect of 30 September 2011. He has been appointed European Co-Dean of the  China-EU School of Law in Bejing (CESL Website). Beyond that he stays connected to the Europa-Kolleg Hamburg as Director at the Institute for European Integration and  member of the faculty of the Master Programme. The team of the Europa-Kolleg thanks Professor Bruha for the great cooperation and wishes him all the best as well as interesting new experiences in China!
